14/3/2023 17 guinea pigs found abandoned in thermal food bags on roadside
Seventeen guinea pigs were abandoned without food or water, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) said on Facebook on Monday. One was found dead under the bags. The passer-by told SPCA: “I went to check the bags because I saw something furry. I was shocked to see a guinea pig’s face staring back at me.” Source – Straitstimes

13/2/2023 Rabbits are in poor condition with spayed legs in pet shop.
The pet store is called Mini Pets. Rabbits are in poor condition with spayed legs and sometimes they have no pellets or hay. Rabbits are practically stacked on top of one another trying to reach the water.

13/2/2023 RABBIT ABANDONED AT VOLUNTEER DOOR STEP
An account of what happened by the volunteer: “I woke up this morning (14 Nov 2022) at around 8AM and receive an anonymous message on Instagram from a spam account. Message as attached. I did not reply and went back to sleep. At about 8.20AM my mother woke me up saying there is a rabbit abandoned at my house door step. The rabbit is extremely underweight, poor and neglected condition. It requires vet attention and has multiple medical condition. On bunnies kept 100% in a cage People need to have greater sense of self awareness. If you know you are not the consistent type and you are the type that love a flooring or a Louis Vuitton bag more than a pet then please don’t get one. Many of us make a lot of sacrifices for our pet bunnies. It’s not all fun and cuteness. Putting rabbits outside etc is just a consequence of people NOT being self aware. 24/4/2016 TRAGEDY AT SEMBAWANG PARK
At around 2pm today, we received news about 2 rabbits straying near Sembawang Park. In the message, it was indicated that the rabbits were sighted since 8am in the morning but the original witness was not able to capture them. Once we received the news, our volunteer went to the location in hope to assist. Our volunteer did find the rabbits. However, both rabbits were already dead. They were found under the bushes at the junction of admiralty road east and Sembawang wharves. Both rabbits’ bodies were very stiff and the white rabbit had bite wounds and blood was oozing from her mouth. Both rabbits look to be 3-4 months…

24/6/2015 Rabbit found (allegedly abandoned) in Toa Payoh
On 24 June 2015 (Wednesday) at about 4.30pm, a rabbit was found allegedly abandoned in a white box inside lift B at Blk 174 Toa Payoh Lorong 1. The rabbit was found to be in very poor physical condition, was severely emaciated and dehydrated with a suspected broken jaw and with maggots crawling around it in the box. It had to be humanely euthanised to end its suffering.
